You might have heard from famous celebrities that they practice yoga daily, which has transformed their lives.
I’m a girl who just wanted to gain muscles. Seriously I was addicted to gaining biceps and gym fit body. I wanted my body to look better than the average girl. So, I started with a home workout, daily few km walks and also bought dumbbells. Started my gym routine, adding push-ups, pull-ups, and a good diet. Surprisingly, gained some muscle and my body got fit.
But my mental health was still disturbed. I was like “Gym join kar ke proper workout karungi toh mentally bhi thick ho jaungi”( I thought that by joining the gym and working out properly, I would become mentally stronger as well ) decided to join a gym but near my home there is only one good gym that is already full. I was like what to do now?
Don’t remember exactly but I found a YouTube short where a girl was saying positive things while doing yoga practice. Found it peaceful and calming, checked her YouTube channel to learn more about yoga. At first, I thought it was a simple practice of stretching your body to make it fit.
But Yoga is not only about the body. It’s about connecting with the soul, it’s about your mental health well being. I decided to give it a try and started with a 15-minute video tutorial. After a few days, I felt bored, because I wasn’t seeing any benefit- just stretching and no improvement in mental health. But the benefits of yoga I read in articles, pushed me to stay consistent.
I learned that you need to practice for a long period to reap the benefits of practice. Began to see physical benefits and extended my practice to 30 minutes daily. Found some good YouTube channels for yoga practice “Satvic Yoga” (my personal fav) then “Charlie Follows” and “Akshaya Agnes”. I started to do practice with the help of their videos.
